Driver Cum Conductor: KSRTC Swift Recruitment

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), a significant and integral part of Kerala’s public transportation needs operating under the Kerala State Government, requires Driver- cum-Conductors on a contract basis for its Swift Buses. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post from 10-March-2023 to 20-March-2023.

No specific number of posts is mentioned in the notification. Whenever vacancies exist, the eligible candidates, chosen from the rank list created as per their performance in the eligibility tests, are given the opportunities. The validity of the rank list is limited to 1 year from the date the rank list comes into existence.

Candidates who agree with the wage condition outlined in the contract by KSRTC Swift can apply for the post. Along with the contract agreement, candidates have to pay Rs. 30,000/- as a security deposit. When the contract terminates, the deposited amount will be refunded after deducting the value of damages or loss (if any) caused by the candidate. Agreeing on the contract, any existing KSRTC employee can also apply for the post. Existing employees are exempted from the security deposit. Candidates having five or more years of experience in KSRTC will be given more priority.

Education & Experience

  • Pass in 10th Std. from a recognized Board or Institute.
  • Possession of a valid driving license for heavy motor vehicles as per MV Act 1988.
  • If selected, candidates should acquire a conductor license from the Motor Vehicle department within a stipulated time.
  • At least 5 years experience in driving heavy passenger vehicles having more than 30 seats. A copy of the receipt of payment to the Motor Vehicle Workers Welfare Fund or the experience certificate obtained from government firms has to be produced as proof of experience.
  • Desirable qualification: Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (able to remove minor defects in vehicle)

Age Limit

  • 21 to 55 years

Selection Procedure

  • Applications first undergo scrutiny, and a shortlist is prepared. Candidates from the shortlist should complete the following:
  • a) A written examination.
  • b) Driving test conducted by the selection committee.
  • c) Interview
  • A rank list of successful candidates is prepared. On vacancy, the eligible candidate is picked up from the rank list. The validity of the rank list is one year.
