Actor Suniel Shetty opens up about his deep connection with cricketer KL Rahul and shares how trolling affects him more than the sportsperson himself.
In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty shared his heartfelt sentiments regarding the online trolling directed at his son-in-law, cricketer KL Rahul. Known for his forthcoming roles in “Welcome 3” and “Hera Pheri 3,” Shetty opened up about the emotional toll of witnessing Rahul face unwarranted criticism.
Shetty, who shares a close bond with Rahul, emphasized the profound impact of trolling, disclosing that it pains him more than it affects Rahul himself. He revealed that despite the online negativity, Rahul often consoles him, expressing confidence by saying, “Dad, my bat will talk.”
“The faith that people have in him, the selectors’ belief, and the captain’s support speak volumes. It affects me a hundred times more than it affects Rahul or Athiya,” Shetty remarked during the interview with ANI.
The actor also confessed to being incredibly superstitious, particularly when India plays cricket. Recollecting his World Cup experience, Shetty disclosed that he watched every match seated on the floor alongside his wife Mana Shetty, underscoring the extent of his superstitions.
Furthermore, Shetty acknowledged the anxiety he experiences when Rahul plays, likening it to a paternal concern for his child. He expressed admiration and empathy for cricketers, highlighting the emotional rollercoaster experienced when witnessing Rahul’s highs and lows in the sport.
Looking ahead, Suniel Shetty, who recently appeared in the OTT film “Hunter,” is gearing up for his Bollywood comeback with highly anticipated projects such as “Hera Pheri 3,” where he stars alongside Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
As the actor prepares for his forthcoming films, his unwavering support for his son-in-law, KL Rahul, remains a testament to their close relationship, marking Suniel Shetty as a supportive and caring father figure.
